"I have been a patient of Dr. Heeney since 2017, at the previous location. Each visit, I‘ve been impressed by how thorough the eye exams are, how much information is shared, and how I always leave with my questions answered, while understanding what I was told. I don’t have a difficult prescription, but I rely on my eyes for work and spend a great deal of time staring at screens. Dr. Heeney has always given me great advice on my eye health and on what to do when my eyes are tired and dry. This is in complete contrast to my first eye exam in the city, back in 2008, in a little office above an optical store. It was so short and rushed it could have been done in a drive-thru. I left not knowing I had astigmatism in both eyes. I recently went to Spadina Optometry for my 5th or 6th visit to get progressive lenses, which I had put off because so many people told me they hated theirs. I've had them for a week and I absolutely love them. They address the complaints I had with my sight. I briefly considered some cheap online options, since work has been slow lately, but ultimately I wanted quality lenses and things done properly. I had a great pair of frames that I wanted to use again. After an exam and a great discussion with the staff, I chose lenses based on what I needed and could spend. I always felt listened to and wish I had done this sooner. A family member got progressives at Costco last week, could not see properly, and has already returned them. I believe that you get what you pay for and that has been my experience here. I love that Spadina Optometry’s equipment is so up to date, I've never needed the awful dilating eye drops for them get good images of my eyes. I also like getting PDF’s of my invoice and prescription by email and a text when my glasses were ready. I always leave my appointments with Dr. Heeney feeling better, having had a nice chat and always having learned more about my eyes. I've referred several friends who had a great experience and are now also fans. "

"Me and my daughter went today for an eye appointment and to see if we could get glasses. Our experience was excellent, from service to environment to the overall area. When entering, it's like a apartment building and it's a little off putting due to the dark hallway, however walking inside, you're invited by the bright space and open area. The receptionist was very sweet and asked all necessary questions. Prior to meeting the optometrist, we both did a advance retinal imaging and the person who did it with us, was both sweet and patient as it was my daughter's first time since she was young. She also told me that when getting her eye examen by the optometrist, they made various small talk about high school and her future career path. While discussing this, my daughter expressed how she found her retinal imaging fascinating and the optometrist said she would email the images to me for her. With this action she was profoundly happy with her experience. She also got to look at my eyes magnified with the specialized microscope. Afterwards we browsed around the area for new frames and the sales associated was so helpful and very kind when giving feedback about the frames and how they looked. The glasses themselves are priced well in my opinion and they offer various types of shapes, frames, colours and brands. Overall the experience is what made our day because I wanted to ensure that my daughter felt good about herself in glasses as it is her first pair. I would recommend this place for everyone especially if it's your first time! "
